Without further delay, let’s jump right in!
Savage Arms Revel & Revel DLX
If you know the modern gun market and the specifics of the current demand, you know then the lever action niche is experiencing a renaissance. Just a few months ago, the S&W launched their first in 170 years lever-action rifle – the Model 1854, which was very well received by gun enthusiasts. And just recently, they’ve updated the series by introducing the 1854 Stealth Hunter tactical lever gun. If you want to learn more about it and the whole series, read this post:

Savage Arms, known primarily for bolt-action rifles, also reentered into the lever-action game (30 years since the discontinuation of the Model 99) by introducing the all-new Savage Revel lever-action takedown rifle. The takedown mechanism requires no tools, making it easy to pack up and take on the go for backcountry backpacking, plinking, or hunting small game
The rifle sports an 18-inch long, carbon steel barrel and maintains a medium overall profile, which means a good balance between portability and performance.
The design features plenty of nods to classic aesthetics—like the Turkish walnut stock and exposed hammer—while still having a few modern features. The receiver is drilled and tapped for an optic mount, and the oversized lever loop offers smooth cycling without being awkward. It also sports a cross-bolt safety behind the trigger, which some might see as a deviation from the “traditional” lever gun style and redundant, but it’s easy enough to work around or customize.
For now, there are two models available—the standard Revel and the Revel DLX (Deluxe). Both have the same barrel length and action, but the DLX is more fancy-looking with a pistol-grip buttstock and flashy wood furniture. As for the capacity, the Revel and Revel DLX in .22 LR hold 12 rounds, while the variants in .22 WMR and .17 HMR hitting shelves in spring 2025 hold 8 rounds.
For those who’ve had hands on the Revel .22 LR say that the build quality feels premium but the price is quite approachable. At a starting price of $439 ($539 for the Deluxe), the Savage Revel is more expensive than brands that have become synonymous with lever guns, such as Henry and Winchester. However, there are not many takedown lever guns on the market. So Savage might expect to fill that niche.
Bergara BMR-X Steel and BMR-X Carbon
Bergara has earned a reputation among hunters and shooting enthusiasts, thanks to renowned firearms like the B-14 series and Premier rifles. For 2025, they’re expanding their yet another popular family of rimfire rifles, the BMR, with two new models—the BMR-X Steel and BMR-X Carbon.
Both rifles are built around Bergara’s trusted Micro Rimfire action but sport a redesigned stock that makes all the difference. Unlike the original BMR’s traditional, fixed stock, the BMR-X models boast an adjustable length of pull, a vertical grip, and a flat forend. These upgrades give the rifles a balanced feel reminiscent of Bergara’s performance-oriented centerfire models.
Now, what makes the Steel and Carbon variants different from each other? Designed with competitive shooters in mind, the BMR-X Steel features a heavy No. 6 4140 chromoly steel barrel. This setup enhances stability and precision. BMR-X Steel weighs in at 6.6 pounds and is priced at $719.
On the other hand, the BMR-X Carbon is is equipped with a lightweight carbon-fiber barrel, ideal for carrying through the field. BMR-X Carbon tips the scales at just 5.7 pounds and comes in at $819
Both variants are offered in .22 LR, .22 WMR, and .17 HMR. Also, both feature a match chamber, a 30 MOA optics rail, and Bergara’s crisp, externally adjustable Performance Trigger.

Browning X-Bolt 2 All Purpose
Browning looks to build on the success of the X-Bolt 2’s 2024 debut by introducing exciting new additions for 2025. At the top of the list is the highly anticipated X-Bolt 2 All Purpose.
The All Purpose model features a heavy-profile 16.5-inch free-floating steel barrel paired with a 5/8×24 TPI threaded muzzle. This combination keeps the rifle compact when outfitted with accessories while offering excellent handling at a manageable weight of slightly more than 7 lbs.
The rifle comes equipped with Browning’s OD Green Vari-Tech stock, first introduced with the original X-Bolt 2 lineup. This stock features adjustable comb height, length of pull, and a soft-touch Inflex recoil pad., as well as interchangeable grip modules, overmolding for enhanced grip, and mounts compatible with Picatinny and ARCA/Swiss accessory rails.
Browning re-uses the X-Bolt 2 receiver, which maintains the signature three-lug bolt and two-position safety, now enhanced with a bolt-unlock feature. However, there’s a notable upgrade in the magazine. Instead of the standard polymer AICS mag found on other X-Bolt 2 models, the All Purpose debuts the new Plus Magazine. This redesigned single-stack, detachable box magazine holds 5 or 6 rounds, depending on the caliber, and is designed for smooth feeding and protecting bullet integrity.
Another key enhancement is the introduction of Browning’s adjustable DLX Trigger.
Currently, the X-Bolt 2 All Purpose is chambered for short-action calibers, with options in .243 Winchester, 6.5 Creedmoor, and .308 Winchester. The MSRP is $1,180.
