We’ve got even more new product announcements from the 2016 SHOT Show for you today.
Benchmade
Benchmark has a wealth of great knife models on display this year. We took a look at several including 3 new offerings in the HK knife line, the new Griptilian G10 in two different sizes, and the cool push button CLA series knife. It was also great to take a look at the Proxy titanium frame lock knife that has improved flippling action and retails at $295. Finally, we got to compare both knives and the skinner of the Hunt series pictured below, and these should be on the wish list of any serious hunter. We can see the grip on the larger hunt series knife being especially useful on wet hunts with finger grooves that will really improve handling.
Leupold
There were so many new products at the Leupold booth this year that we’ll have to do a longer article later on, but the biggest announcement regarded the update of the VX-3 rifle scope. The discontinued VX-3 will now be replaced by the VX-3i, and get ready for a double take…the price has been lowered to $399. That’s an amazing value, especially when you consider that the lens coatings have been improved and the latest Leupold optics tech has been applied to this scope to control glare and encourage light transmission.
Leupold is also releasing an affordable range finder in the TBR series starting at $249. If you go with the more advanced 1200i TBR-W, you’ll get an added wind adjustment feaure that anticipates crosswind so you have a reference point for those shots hampered by the wind.
Leupold is also releasing a soft goods line that includes a stylish new set of packs and range bags as well as high quality apparel worthy of the Leupold name.
Hawke Optics
New at Hawke this year, they are brining back the retired Frontier Series in a 30mm tube with two illuminated options either in LR Dot or TMX reticle patterns. There will be two models for each reticle in 2.5-15×50 or 5-30×50, and they retail between $699 or $799 depending on the reticle.
Truglo
Truglo had several new products on display at SHOT this year as well. First off they are releasing a series of new TFX sights that combine a sealed tritium vial with a fiber optic front for maximum illumination.
We also got to try out the cool tap anywhere feature on the 2016 Tru-Tec 20mm red dot sight. You can turn on this red dot just by shouldering your weapon and giving the optic a slight tap anywhere on the device.
Finally, TruGlo is launching the Shark suppressor series that retails at $1200 and sports their own line of thread adapter accessories to fit any caliber. To match the suppressor line, Shark also unveiled a unique suppressor para-sight (pictured both) that fits both Shark suppressors as well as competitor models. These sights certainly aren’t for everyone, but it is a little different take on adding night sights.
