SIG Sauer Will Release the P211 GT4 & GT5 Non-Comped Pistols

If you loved the SIG P211 GTO but held off buying one because you didn’t want (or couldn’t run) a compensator, your patience just paid off. Ahead of SHOT Show 2026, SIG SAUER finally pulled the curtain back on the P211 GT4 and GT5. These are the “standard” versions of the P211 platform, ditching the comp for a traditional bull barrel while keeping all the ergonomics that made this metal-framed 9mm pistol platform interesting.

P211 GT5 vs GT4

SIG released two variants here, and the naming convention is pretty straightforward.

The GT5 is the 5-inch, full-size model for duty and competition. It’s got a full-length dust cover and a bull barrel (no bushing to mess with). Because it’s a steel frame with an alloy grip module, it is heavy, tipping the scales at 46oz with magazine. However, that weight is going to soak up recoil like a sponge, making it incredibly flat shooting without needing a compensator.

The GT4 is the “compact” version with a 4.2-inch slide. SIG calls it a concealed carry model. Some of you might roll your eyes at calling a 4.2-inch, wide-body pistol a “carry gun”. Well, it is heavy (41.5 oz with mag), and it’s definitely more Commander-sized than P365-sized. However, while the pistol is a bit big for IWB for smaller frames, it is perfect for duty belts or winter carry. Besides, it might be a better fit for people with smaller hands. To help with printing, SIG swapped the massive magwell found on the GT5 for a low-profile version. Interestingly, the GT4 has the same capacity as the GT5 – 17 or 21 rounds.

The P211 GT4/GT5 design is the big win for the suppressor crowd. Since these don’t have the integral comp or sight block of the GTO, threading a barrel (if aftermarket support follows suit) becomes a much more realistic project.

Also, by removing the compensator, SIG SAUER have made the P211 legal for more competition divisions and more palatable for police departments that don’t allow comps.
